The Merseyside is a quaint little cafe with fresh coffee and delicious food and baked goods. The espresso is on point and service is very friendly. The gluten-free brownie Madelines really stood out to me. Made from scratch they pair wonderfully with an Americano and have the perfect amount of bitter-sweetness. The atmosphere is nice and it's a convenient location near the subway and go station. Highly recommend for a coffee or a quick bite. Definitely try out some of the treats!

Gem of a spot (in an area with few options) I find myself in this area on business and it’s slowly getting better - case in point this wonderful coffee spot. If you’re taking the GO or Up Express this is your best bet. Really good prices (cheaper than chains) and delicious espresso. Good prices for baked goods and other drinks. Wonderful warm staff and a very nice contemporary place to meet someone or get some work done. Highly recommend.

Coffee was good. The scone was one of the best I've had in the area. Friendly service. It's a small place and there isn't anywhere really to sit inside at the moment as they have seating still blocked off (covid related I'm assuming). Limited chairs outside.

Discovered this place randomly one morning when getting off the bus to take the GO train downtown and it's been a staple ever since. The scones are the best I've ever had - I simply can't make myself purchase a scone anywhere else because nothing will compare. They're crispy yet delicate, with a perfectly balanced ratio of tartness and sweetness. I'm a huge fan of the blueberry muffin but it’s always a great start to the day when there’s a cool new flavour like blueberry and black tea, or some type of raspberry mix. My only wish is that I can stroll in on a Saturday at 3pm and be able to get a scone but unfortunately, they close at 2pm every day. This is the best hidden gem I could have ever discovered and I really should’ve left a review a long time ago.

Highly recommend The Merseyside for a good breakfast and coffee. The italiano sandwich with ham, roasted red peppers, parsley and cheese was really good. They also have amazing home made scones - loved the apricot scone: rich and moist with fruit pieces inside and a delicious sugary glaze.

My first time visiting this adorable little neighbourhood café and it certainly won't be my last! I enjoyed one of the best scones (made in house!) I believe I've found in Toronto as well as a coffee that was a perfect cup. The Merseyside has a very homey atmosphere and we were served by the friendliest person! I can't wait to introduce more friends to this place , which, by the way is a short walk north of the Dundas West subway station.

I came in for a coffee but needed something to eat. The blueberry scone was phenomenal; light, nicely moist, with blueberries an intrinsic part of the taste. Too often at other cafes the scones are a little dry and heavy. This one had a lovely crunch to the crust with just the right hint of sugar. I’m looking forward to trying more of this cafe’s baking.

Was super early for an appointment nearby so decided to sit down and enjoy a simple breakfast: Latte and Toasted Coconut Croissant. It was quite busy when I first walked in where there were about 3 people waiting for the orders and about 5 occupied tables (and at the bar by the window). Merseyside has a back area where I have not seen it used much. I decided to sit there while I wait for my glass of latte and sandwich. There is no wifi in weekend but I was lucky to have received it from the owner as he overheard I had asked for it. I love their menu here—everything is made in-house from soups, sandwiches, scones and all done so deliciously. Previously I had the breakfast peameal sandwich and was hoping to enjoy it today. As it was busy it slipped their minds, it was an honest mistake and alternatively I got the toasted coconut croissant—and yummy! It was a sunny Sunday so it was nice to see people getting out and about and enjoying their morning.
